Ajay is a Senior Partner Emeritus at McKinsey & Company. He brings 30 years of broad healthcare experience. He covers commercial excellence, strategy, M&A, performance improvement, organization design, and aspiration setting. Ajay is Chairman and Non-Executive Independent Director at Healthium Medtech, Director at BJC Healthcare, Director at Vizient Inc., Director at OnPoint Surgical, RAND Health Advisory Board, and Innovaccer Strategic Advisory Council.

Ajay previously led McKinsey’s Midwest Healthcare Practice and North America Medical Products, working on medical technology, pharma/biotech, health systems, academic centers, post-acute providers, drug store chains, specialty pharmacies, PBMs, HCIT, distributors/other intermediaries, and disease management. Ajay has published articles on new product and therapy adoption, commercial excellence, pricing and contracting, digital marketing, industry consolidation, and M&A. He is passionate about healthcare policy and is also an active private investor. Prior to McKinsey, he spent 5 years at Schlumberger Wireline in oilfield services roles in Asia and Europe.

Ajay holds an MBA from Stanford University where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, where he was awarded the President’s Gold Medal.

Dr.Mohan ChellappaAdvisor, Mentor

Dr. Mohan Chellappa is currently the President Emeritus, Global Ventures, of Johns Hopkins Medicine International (JHMI). A founding member of JHMI, he is involved in the development of international clinical consultancy activities and clinical care programs, implementation of quality systems, and utilization of IT in healthcare. Dr. Chellappa has been instrumental in securing and establishing several engagements of Johns Hopkins Medicine globally, including the establishment of Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare, a joint venture with Aramco, the world’s largest energy company.

He also serves on the boards of HCL Technologies, HCL Healthcare, and John Hopkins Aramco Healthcare. He has a special interest in the effectiveness of corporate boards and completed a program in that area at the Harvard Business School.

A surgeon by profession, Dr. Chellappa is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He holds a business degree and has wide surgical experience, having worked in countries such as India, Malaysia, Singapore, the UK, and the USA. He underwent special training in Surgical Gastroenterology at the University of Leeds and Hammersmith Hospital in 1982, and in liver and kidney transplantation at the University of Louvain in Brussels in 1986. He is an avid follower of technology and has been a part of the Artificial Intelligence Consortium for Healthcare in the Gulf Council.
